After lengthy negotiations, a tentative contract agreement has been reached with the city. Ratification meetings will take place at the following times:

     Date:       Thursday, June 11 2009 

     Times:     8:30 am and 6:30 pm

     Location: Aurora Fire Union Hall, 1010 S. Joliet St.

The tentative agreement is for:

     A one year contract (2010 only) 

     1% across the board increase in wages. 

     7% increase in the city's contribution to health care.

     4.5% increase in the city's contribution to dental care.

     No deferments.

The ratification vote will begin immediately following the 8:30 am meeting.

Officer Robert Moszer was recently diagnosed with a serious illness and has been approved for leave sharing. The Aurora Police Association encourages all officers to help a brother officer by donating whatever leave you can spare. Leave sharing forms can be found at all three districts and can be obtained through payroll.

OUR NEW UPGRADED LEGAL DEFENSE FUND COVERAGE
The APA is proud to announce that we have upgraded our LDF coverage. Our coverage includes criminal, civil, administrative and off duty administrative with NO caps.
The new procedure is as follows: In the event of a critical incident or NOI on short notice contact Bruno, Colin, Jewell and Lowe at 303.831.1099. Contact PORAC at 1.800.255.5610 and get your case number as soon as possible. (You are required to get a case number) This is similiar to a claim number used by insurance companies.
In the case of internal or criminal investigation please keep your board informed ASAP so we can provide you with the best advice possible. Only your career depends on it!!!!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The critical incident pager 303-540-0111 has been cancelled. The new access account has not yet been established. In the meantime if you should require assistance from the Board or have a critical incident please contact Don James at 303-204-8178 or Joe Cornell at 720-810-1693. If this is a critical incident you can also contact the law firm of Bruno, Colin, Jewel and Lowe at 303-831-1099. If you make direct contact with the attorney you must also notify one of the Board members. As soon as the new access account is on line we will provide you all an update.
